Health Literacy Training – Belfast

Local health professionals from Belfast have successfully completed a training programme aimed at helping to reduce the impact of low health literacy.
The programme, completed by 19 health professionals, had three aims:
- To explore the role of health literacy as a key determinant in tackling inequalities
- To share leading international and local knowledge on how health literacy can support the health and wellbeing of citizens and health professionals
- To teach skills, sustain skills and behaviour change on Health Literacy Communication
The programme was co-facilitated by Anne McCusker, Belfast Healthy Cities and Kathy Martin, Community Development Health Network.
