Learning from Belfast – Creating healthy places seminar

The Learning from Belfast – Creating healthy places seminar shared learning from Belfast’s response during the Covid-19 pandemic and the design of our streets to support people to remain active and healthy.

Healthy Cities apply innovative approaches in creating healthy places such as engagement of the citizens in designing public places. This seminar explored projects to create healthy places, the benefits of including children in placemaking; the social return on investing in an urban greenway in Belfast and how streets can be transformed to enable people to stay active and adhere to social distancing.

The presenters were:

Dr Ruth Hunter, Queen's University Belfast - Social return on investment – analysis of an urban greenway

Rachael Black, Queen's University Belfast - Co-designing a shared future: how can children be a part of reimagining Belfast’s interfaces?

Dr Deepti Adlakha, Queen’s University Belfast - Building back better from COVID-19: Activity-friendly communities for a healthier, greener and resilient future
