The 12th Annual Meeting and 7th Conference of HEPA (Health Enhancing Physical Activity) Europe took place in Belfast 28-30 September 2016, hosted by Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University. 

The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Walking the Walk’: what should the public health policy response be to the evidence for physical activity and saw a range of plenary, symposia, parallel and poster sessions. 

Belfast Healthy Cities were delighted to be part of the Organising Committee which attracted 300 delegates, including colleagues from WHO Regional Office for Europe, from 28 countries across Europe and to sponsor the poster presentation session on Thursday 29 September. 

Physical activity opportunities were offered to delegates at lunchtime and Belfast Healthy Cities staff brought the ‘KidsSpace’ equipment to the QUB grounds where the adults were invited to get involved!
