Healthy Places, Healthy Children

Belfast Healthy Cities are celebrating and supporting the ongoing use of the Healthy Places, Healthy Children Teaching Resource.
Awards
A number of Primary Schools across N Ireland have delivered the Healthy Places, Healthy Children Resource. These schools can apply for awards to celebrate best practice and support delivery of a child-led project plan.
· Best Practice Award - awards of £250 will be made to three Primary Schools that have demonstrated best practice in using the Healthy Places, Healthy Children resource.
· Delivering Change Award - awards of £500 will be made to two Primary Schools to support the delivery of a child-led project plan developed as part of Unit 5 of the Healthy Places, Healthy Children Teaching Resource.
Award Entry Forms should be submitted by 5pm Monday 15th May to info@belfasthealthycities.com, alongside any queries.
Training
Primary Schools across N Ireland new to the resources can register interest to attend a two-hour training session to be held in person, in Belfast, on Friday 9th June 2023 (am). This will follow the awards ceremony.
· Training –a training session will be organised to build the capacity of teachers to deliver the Healthy Places, Healthy Children Teaching Resource. Spaces will be limited and allocated to one place per school on a first come first serve basis. Costs of substitute cover will be provided to attendees. Teachers taking part in the training session are invited to attend the awards ceremony beforehand.
