The third year of the bursary continued the high quality trend set in previous years. Two awardees shared the bursary in 2016, focusing on child and age friendly places. Pamela Frazer from Alzheimer’s Society Northern Ireland travelled to Galway to explore dementia friendly communities. Neil Galway from Queen’s University Belfast visited Stockholm in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark to study child friendly approaches in planning. The awardees presented their learning at the WHO Belfast Healthy Cities Annual Award ceremony in December 2016.
